Instead of telling prospective residents what community looks like, Cohabs lets them see how it begins.

Life by Cohabs:
Moving In Is Just the Beginning
Moving to a new city is one thing. Finding your people there is another. You can unpack your bags in a day, but it takes longer for a place to feel like home. Cohabs makes that part easier, with furnished homes built around shared spaces and the people who live in them.
That idea became the starting point for Life by Cohabs, a year-long series that shows what co-living feels like through the eyes of the people experiencing it.
25 Creators. Seven Cities. A Place to Start.
Over the year, 25 creators will stay in Cohabs homes across London, Madrid, Marseille, Milan, Paris, Washington, and New York. Each will spend one to four weeks there, sharing their own view of arriving, settling in, and meeting the people around them.
They arrive as outsiders, the same way most people do when they move to a new place. And just like most of us, there’s no single story to tell. Some may arrive excited to start over. Others may find the first days harder than expected. The series leaves room for both, as well as the routines, conversations, and spontaneous plans that make a new city begin to feel familiar.

Discovering the creaters
Finding the right voices was part of the work. Some of the creators came from LOIS, our agency's collective of filmmakers, illustrators, photographers, and artists who share a focus on work that feels real and human. Furthermore LOIS delivered search & discovery service to find bespoke storytellers who perfectly fit the brief.
the first stories are here
Content creator and storyteller Bibi-Jane captures the uneasy space between the freedom of moving somewhere new and the loneliness of starting again. As she looks for her next home in Paris, she’s also looking for a way to make that move without doing it entirely alone.
Filmmaker Beatrice comes at it from another angle. Her New York chapters ask whether home is really about finding the right place, or about the people you come to share it with.
“As a filmmaker and visual storyteller, I found that Cohabs' community-driven lifestyle fit naturally with my cinematic approach, because the stories I wanted to tell were already happening around me, and the characters turned out to be real people.”
— Beatrice Harrods, Creative Director & LOIS Visual Storyteller
As more creators and cities join throughout the year, Life by Cohabs will build a clearer picture of how people make a life somewhere new. Instead of telling prospective residents what community looks like, Cohabs lets them see how it begins.
